iPhone eSIM guide
Does iPhone Air support eSIM?
iPhone Air appears in the co:sim compatible device list. Your exact market, carrier, and hardware variant still matter.

01
The short answer
Yes β iPhone Air supports eSIM in eligible cellular variants. Before purchasing, confirm that Add eSIM appears in Settings or its companion app and that the device is carrier-unlocked.
Check your exact iPhone Air
A model name can cover different regional hardware and connectivity variants. This two-minute check confirms your exact device.
- 1
Open Settings on the device or its companion app.
- 2
Open the cellular, mobile network, connections, or SIM menu.
- 3
Look for Add eSIM, Add cellular plan, or a similar option.
- 4
Open About or device status and look for an EID. If the device supports dialling, *#06# may also show it.
What confirms compatibility
If Add eSIM is visible and an EID is present, the device has an eSIM module. You should still confirm that it accepts plans from other carriers.
Carrier unlock is a separate check
An eSIM-capable device can still be locked to the carrier that sold it. Ask that carrier to confirm the device is unlocked before installing a travel eSIM.
Regional and carrier exceptions
Overseas, Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China versions support eSIM. The mainland China version can install a non-Chinese carrier eSIM only while the device is outside mainland China.
Using co:sim on iPhone Air
Once the checks above pass, you can install a co:sim data plan before departure and configure the device for travel data.
- Choose a plan for your destination.
- Install the eSIM from the QR code or activation details.
- Turn on the travel line and data roaming when you arrive.
